Independent Living Program – Eligibility & Intake Requirements

Basic Eligibility

Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older

  • Valid government-issued ID required (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, or Birth Certificate)

Family Composition:

  • Single individuals

  • Married couples

  • Parents with children (maximum of 2 children per household)

Income Requirements:

​Must have a verifiable and stable source of income, including:
 

 

  • Employment (part-time or full-time)

  • SSI (Supplemental Security Income)

  • SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance)

  • Social Security benefits


Minimum income should be sufficient to cover monthly program fees

Background Screening:

  • Criminal background check required

  • No recent violent offenses, arson, or sex offenses

  • Rental history may be reviewed

Additional Criteria:

  • ​Must be able to live independently with minimal supervision

  • Must agree to house rules, curfew, and program guidelines

  • No active substance abuse (may require screening or proof of sobriety if applicable)

  • Willingness to participate in program check-ins or case management

Length of Stay

  • ​Minimum Stay: 30 days

  • Maximum Stay: 4 months

  • Extensions may be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on progress and availability

Costs & Fees

​Room Rates:
 

  • Shared Room: $750/month

  • Single Room: $1,200/month

Security Deposit:

  • Equal to half of the monthly room rate

Additional Fees

  • No Application fee

  • Late payment fees grace period, 5 days

Payment Plans:

  • Available on a case-by-case basis

Interview

  • Brief intake interview to assess fit and needs


Approval Decision

  • Approval or denial within up to 24 hours of receiving all documents


Move-In Scheduling

  • Deposit and first payment required prior to move-in

  • Last 2 pay stubs

  • Bank statements (most recent 1–2 months)

  • SSI / SSDI award letter

  • Social Security award letter

  • Emergency contact information

House Expectations

  • Maintain the cleanliness of personal and shared spaces

  • Respect other residents and staff

  • No illegal activity on premises

  • Quiet hours enforced

  • No Overnight Guests

  • No visit longer than 4 hours in common areas only

  • Program reserves the right to deny applicants who do not meet eligibility criteria
